Do you say “Delica” in the same manner that you say “Celica”?
I do not.

I say “Mitsubishi Delica Star Wagon”

Curiously, if one were to read them in Spanish they should both be read with the stress in the second syllable since they both end in a vowel and have no accent mark
.
Yet, I have yet to hear anyone pronounce Celica that way.

Lol, fuck that’s so good. I haven’t seen a Del with that much text on it.

That’s the Brit/Aussie way of saying Celica.
In the US, it’s just SELL-uh-kuh
But for some reason, my mind says “De-LEE-ca” for the van.

Yes. That’s right. That’s how I’ve always heard it said in Australia at least. Not that you hear it said much ;)
My mum actually had 2 of them before she was

I’ve managed to live in English-speaking communities where the Delica is known even amongs non-automotive enthusiasts, and even decidedly automotive non-enthusiasts, the draw being that it’s more or less a diesel minivan. At any rate I always hear it said “DELL-ih-ca”. In contrast to the common pronunciation “ce-LEE-ca”.
